We’ve got some big news in the college lacrosse world. Lindendwood University has announced that they will be taking a big leap into Division I, and expects to be competing at the DI level next year in the 2022-2023 seasons.  Expansions like these are huge for the sport, even though it may seem insignificant: This provides more opportunity for players to reach the elite level, and increases competition.  On the men’s side, the Lions will be the 75th Division I program to enter competition. The women’s team should be able to see some steady success early on, as they are currently the defending Division II champions. It is expected that the Lindenwood men’s team will join the ASUN conference to compete with the other mid-west regional schools. If that does happen, the Lions will be joining Utah, Cleveland State, Air Force, Detroit Mercy, Robert Morris, and Bellarmine.
