The College Lacrosse season is just about halfway through…which means we are just getting started. Our team picks have been all over the place, and we’re starting to see some distance in the standings. Dakota has really catapulted into 1st place with 3 more W’s than MattyTubeLocks in 2nd. Big Dog Joe D isn’t too far behind Tubes in 3rd, and he’s refusing to rack up any more pushes… strictly W’s and L’s. Frank falls to last as Pete gives up on his #FADEDAKOTA campaign, while Chris and Joe M are floating up and down the charts as well. Let’s get into our week 8 picks, and the preview for our top games this week…

Virginia vs Notre Dame (+2.5, O/U 27.5) Saturday March 26th 1 pm

Notre Dame just got a much needed win over Michigan and will be looking to build a win-streak. They’ve had a rocky start to the season, but none of those games held true meaning. This weekend means the most since it’s their first ACC game. The Kavanagh’s looked good, combining for 8 points, and now they have to keep that momentum. Virginia is coming off a tough loss to Maryland, but if you want to be the best you got to beat the best. We expect to see UVA come out angry and looking to bury Notre Dame in the game. It is ACC play so be ready for the unexpected.

Duke vs Syracuse (+3.5, O/U 26.5) Saturday March 26th 2pm

Another big time ACC matchup that comes with a huge amount of tradition is ‘Cuse vs Duke. ‘Cuse is coming off a big win at Stony Brook to help boost their season, and now have to get ready for a rocky Duke team. The key for the Orange is to have more than just their big three in Dordevic, Curry, and Seebold getting involved in their offensive production. Duke needs to gain some consistency and put together some strong ACC games to help give these Blue Devils a shot towards deep playoffs. This will be a big game for whoever comes out on top.

Rutgers vs Ohio State (+1.5, O/U 23.5) Sunday March 27th 12pm

A top ten, Big Ten conference game – what more could you want? Rutgers has been buzzing, but the big question mark is their strength of schedule. Their best opponents so far have been Princeton (lost 16-11), Army (13-10 win), and Loyola (13-12 win). We’re not saying Rutgers isn’t good, we’re just saying that this is the first big opponent for the Scarlet Knights. Ohio State is a very confusing team. They are able to beat UNC by 12 goals, then lose to Cornell, beat Notre Dame, and then lose to Denver. The Buckeyes need some consistency after a rollercoaster start to the season. The Buckeyes do have a game against Dartmouth Tuesday so we’ll see how fresh those legs are come game time on Sunday.
