As we take the turn toward the second half of the season, the standings in our LU Locks pool are shaping up. Dakota is running away with first place, while Matty Tube Locks and Big Dog Joe D. maintain a close running for second place with Chris on their heels. Pete is starting to break away from the bottom, while Joe M. and Frank are trying to fight their way away from that last spot. Anything can happen, there’s a lot of lax left. Let’s see what we have this week…

Duke vs UNC (+1.5, O/U 25.5) Saturday April 2nd 2pm ACCNX

A big time ACC matchup that is going to play a big part in the conference seeding. Duke needs to get back on track with their season. Four losses for a team in a conference that doesn’t get an automatic qualifying bid is not promising. UNC had a bit of a scare last week against Bellarmine, but will be looking for Chris Gray to lead them to a win. Whichever team plays more cohesively is going to win this game. We’ve seen UNC rely on Chris Gray, and Duke going 1v1 with any of their players so it’ll be interesting to see how both teams game plan for this one.

Notre Dame vs Syracuse (+1.5, O/U 24.5) April 2nd 2pm ESPNU

How about a nationally televised game for you to watch on Saturday? Notre Dame is in desperation mode to save this season with a 2-4 record. Syracuse has a lot of momentum on their side after that huge upset win over Duke to keep the Orange’s hopes alive for a little longer. Syracuse’s offense has gotten into a rhythm and we’re starting to see more players getting involved and not just Brendan Curry and Tucker Dordevic; but that also brings us to the question for the Irish, teams see that the Kavanagh brothers are the main players initiating offense and no one else. It is kind of a similar situation with Syracuse last week against Duke where they came out with nothing to lose and just played fast, competitive lacrosse for the entire game. This will be a defining game for the winner

UPenn vs Yale (+1.5, O/U 29.5) April 2nd 3:30 ESPN+

The Ivy League has been an incredible race for the top spot in the conference. The winner of this game could potentially be tied for second place depending on the other team’s results this weekend. Penn has found themselves in close games all year long where they’ve won and lost. People are still unsure about Yale this year, but the Bulldogs can absolutely play with anyone. They just took down Princeton and beat Denver two weeks before that. We expect this one to be a fight to the end.
