1. Will Bowen - Defenseman (UNC-Georgetown)
The height and weight says it all. Will Bowen is a massive human being at 6’3, 220 pounds. On top of that he gets a 6 foot stick to whack you with. The first team All-American is looking to step right in and lead the Hoya defense. Bringing Will to Georgetown really fills in any gaps Georgetown may have been missing and completes this roster.
2. Jonathan Donville - Midfielder (Cornell-Maryland)
Donville certainly knows how to play the game, he was selected as the number one pick in the NLL college draft. With his ability to catch anything in tight spaces and score, we see Donville being primarily a crease guy. Maryland is a team that likes to use their crease guy as much as they can. Between having Donville on the crease, with Wisnauskas dodging, opposing teams are truly going to have to pick their poison. However, we expect Coach Tillman to throw some curveballs at his opponents and have Donville take some dodges and actively attack his defenders as well. Think about it, you don’t become the number 1 pick without being multifaceted. We're expecting big things not only from Johnathan Donville, but from the entire Terps team as well.
3. Jason Reynolds - Defenseman (Richmond-Notre Dame)
Notre Dame is known for building their team by starting with the defense, and going up from there. That is exactly what they did with Jason Reynolds. Reynolds was a first team All- SoCon player at the end of the season after scooping up 23 groundballs and causing 17 turnovers. We fully anticipate that Reynolds will shine with the Irish and serve as a great compliment to the Veteran defense they already have. This ND defense is going to be no joke.
4. Sean Lulley - Attackman (Penn-Duke)
Lulley is another player with a big frame at 6’2, 210 pounds. Lulley is stepping into a role that Duke had an urgency to fill: they graduated Mike Sowers after an electric season, and then went out and gained Sean Lulley. We see Lulley filling in for that Sowers role, especially with his height. He will have the ability to dodge and see everything happening simply because he has the ability to look over his defender. Hopefully this addition will bring us some of that Duke magic.
5. Bobby Gavin - Goalie (Virginia-Syracuse)
Bobby Gavin is a big grab for the Orange, especially after their middle of the pack goalie/defensive play from the 2021 season. Bobby is a player who brings in game experience, and also an ACC player of the week title under his belt when he made 13 saves against Army. If Bobby Gavin does get the nod from Gary Gait to become the starting goalie, he can do some big things to get the Orange going again.
