Well…not the ideal weekend betting to say the least. The Chaos gave us no hope at all, and the Cannons had a meltdown of the century this weekend. That Cannons moneyline was looking so good we stopped watching with 5 minutes left. To our surprise, when we sat back down the game was in overtime and the Chrome made a comeback! Overall, we split the games going 2-2 with a win and a loss on both days this weekend. We got a close win in the Whips vs Redwoods over 22.5 as the game finished with 23 goals. The Waterdogs showed up to play this weekend, as they doubled up the defending champs, beating the Chaos 18-9 and soiling our Chaos -1.5 pick. Mikey Sowers returning to the lineup and being able to produce was huge for the team. The Cannons were our heartbreak of the week. They were up 11-5 at one point during the fourth, but the Chrome amassed a comeback and won 12-11 in OT.

The Atlas and the Archers had a battle to wrap up Baltimore weekend, in which we had the Archers +1.5. The Archers had trouble getting their offense moving all night pretty much. Schrieber didn’t look like Tom Schrieber and Will Manny was held scoreless, but Matt Moore continues to impress as he came out with another hat trick. The Atlas brought it right to the Archers and battled all game. Their offense was on fire with four guys having a multi-point game. The Archers had a chance to tie late in the fourth, but a costly turnover would crush any of those hopes. We still covered though and that’s all that matters when it comes to our picks.

As you can imagine, the Always Custom Parlay did not work out for us since we had the Chaos spread, so it’s back to the drawing board. Let’s take a look at the board for Minnesota weekend.

Archers vs Redwoods (+1.5, O/U 24.5) Friday July 1 7pm ESPN+

Pick: Archers -1.5

There’s no hiding that the Redwoods are on the struggle bus this season. They are last in offensive and goalie stats. They find themselves in the middle of the pack defensively, which isn’t great considering that’s their strength.  TD Lerlan is also struggling at the face-off X, sitting in sixth place. With all that being said, the Archers need to find some consistency. Their offense last week didn’t look in sync like it did when they played the Cannons. All that being said, we’re going with the Archers again this weekend, and personally challenging Tim Troutner to keep the Redwoods in this game. It’s going to be interesting to see how the Woods scheme against this Archers team. The Archers have struggled a bit when the SSDM’s force Marcus Holman and Will Manny to dodge. We might be looking at a double pole with Mat Moore and Schrieber up top, and leaving one of their attackman on the short stick.

Atlas vs Chrome (+1.5, O/U 23.5) Friday July 1 9:45pm ESPN+

Pick: Over 23.5

The Chrome have been the comeback kings this year. The whole team has been on fire and there doesn’t seem to be an ounce of quit in them. They were down 11-5 in the fourth last week, and won the game 12-11 in overtime. Matchup-wise, this might be the first game the Chrome are evenly matched throughout the field. Connor Farrel vs Trevor Baptiste, Jack Concannon vs Sean Sconone, two high powered offenses, and two solid defenses. We think that this is going to be a great game to watch, and the best way to watch a great game is to bet the over! Which is exactly what we’re doing, both teams are scoring double digits on average so this should be a solid bet for the game. We’re all in.

Chaos vs Cannons (+1.5, O/U 23.5) Saturday July 2 6pm ESPN+

Pick: Cannons +1.5

The lines here are a bit of a head scratcher for us. Why are the Cannons underdogs against a winless team? We were all over the Chaos train as they got back the NLL guys last week, but we think Lyle and the Cannons offense correct their 4th quarter play from last week and get back in the win column here. The Chaos are 2-0 in this matchup, but we’re sticking with the Cannons +1.5.

Whipsnakes vs Waterdogs (+1.5, O/U 24.5) Saturday July 2 8:45pm ESPN+

Pick: Under 24.5

The Whipsnakes are undefeated and show no signs of slowing down. They had bit of a scare last week, but pulled through for the win. They have Zed Williams back, and everything is falling into place for them. The Waterdogs got a huge win against a sluggish Chaos team where they almost scored 20. Taking a look at all of the final games this season, the over has only hit one time. These teams are meeting again after their overtime game in week 2. We think the safe pick is the under 24.5 points. 25 is a lot to begin with, then you add in that it’s the last game of the weekend, and it’s the second matchup of the season, so the defenses will be more locked in to the offensive plays. This is screaming under every which way.

Keeping the Always Custom Parlay nice and simple by going with our straight up picks. We’ll see what game is going to destroy our dreams. We’re a little skeptical about the Cannons pick, just because of how they’ve broken our hearts already. We will see…
