Our team had an average weekend, putting up a total of 50.8 points, with Lyle Thompson’s 22 points leading the way for us.  Lyle scored twice and dished out 3 assists for a total of 5 points. Going down the list, Tom Schrieber did not perform up to expectations. Schrieber finished the weekend with 0 points on the board, even though he did score two goals. He also had 5 turnovers throughout the game and each one of those costs you 2 points. Jarrod Neumann did not pick up any two point bombs, but did cause a turnover and got a groundball so he gave us 6 points. Connor Farrell had a solid game going 16-25 with 12 groundballs which gave us 13.8 points in their comeback win. Lastly, is Blaze Riorden who got 13 saves on the day in the loss against the Waterdogs. The PLL is heading north this weekend as they will play in Minnesota, so let’s take a look at who to pick for your team.

Attack

Lyle Thompson, Cannons, Tier 1

We’re running it back with Lyle Thompson this week. He led our week 4 team in points with 22, and has consistently been above 15 points this year. On top of that the Cannons are playing the Chaos, who are still searching for their first win. Against the Chaos, Lyle has scored 9 goals and 6 assists, and we don’t know if they have a big time defender right now that will be able to keep him from getting his points.

Midfield

Mike Channenchuk, Whipsnakes, Tier 2

The Whipsnakes take on the Waterdogs, and Channy was able to get two assists and 7 shots in the first game they played this year. Now that this is the second game, I expect some of those shots to fall for him in this game and to have a solid Mike Channenchuk day with a couple goals and assists to take care of the Waterdogs.

Defense

Ryan Terefenko, Chrome, Tier 1

Ryan Terefenko has been having a great year so far. He’s got 3 CT’s 8 GB’s and 3 points (1g, 2a) to help the Chrome’s current undefeated season. Picking a SSDM against this high powered Atlas offense might be a risk, but we would like to see Terefenko challenging these midfielders. We think the matchups overall would be in favor of Terefenko. Bryan Costabile will probably be getting poled this game, leaving Terefenko on Bucaro, Romar Dennis, etc. and like we said, he can win those matchups and cause some havoc all over the field.

Face-off

Joe Nardella, Whispsnakes, Tier 2

Trevor Baptsite and Connor Farrell have been the safe choices for the player royale. But they are going against each other this weekend  which can go many different ways. Looking at the games, we think Joe Nardella has the best face-off matchup this week. The Whipsnakes rank second in faceoff  percentage at 63%, and the Waterdogs are 7th at 40%. Zac Tucci held his own against Chaos, but Nardella is much better than Thomas Kelly so it’ll be a challenge for Tucci.

Goalie

Adam Ghitleman, Archers, Tier 3

The Archers are looking for a bounce back game after losing to the Atlas by one. They take on a struggling Redwoods team that is still trying to get their offense figured out. We think we see Adam Ghitleman and the Archers defense with a solid game after their loss to the Atlas to get the Archers above 500.
