UNLTD Athlete Spotlight: 2022, Week 1

We got to see 4 of our 12 UNLTD athletes start up their seasons this past weekend, and they are going into week 2 undefeated. We got to watch Joe Robertson take on Robert Morris Friday night, and then Vermont on Sunday; both games resulting in a win by a deciding fashion. On Saturday, we had Connor DeSimone, and Joey Epstein facing off against Jacksonville in a tight contest, but they ultimately pulled out the 11-8 win. Lastly, Matt Moore and the Cavs took on Air Force Saturday afternoon, where UVA won 21-11.

Joe Robertson had a great weekend, putting up 8 points (3 goals, 5 assists) across 2 games. Joe is being a quarterback for this offense, directing and playmaking for his teammates, and we expect this to continue throughout the duration of the season. At UVA, Matt Moore is generally the one who puts the ball in the back of the net. This weekend he showed us how dynamic of a player he truly is and stepped up as a facilitator, accounting for 1 goal and 3 assists in the Cavs victory.

Connor and Joey had to fight to get their win this weekend against Jacksonville. Connor helped pave the way for the Blue Jays scoring a hat trick, and recording an assist as well. Connor was able to free himself up and get himself open for some great shots all day. Joey Epstein didn’t record any points, but made some key plays that helped Hopkins gain an advantage, and secure the win for the Blue Jays. These two are going to play a big part in the Jays continued effort to make a statement this season.

In total, our athletes are 3-0 entering week two with 16 points (7 goals, 9 assists). This upcoming weekend we’ll get to have a look at all of our UNLTD athletes. We have 7 of our athletes facing off on Friday, four on Saturday, and 8 on Sunday – all across 6 games on Friday, 4 games on Saturday, and 7 games on Sunday.
