2025 NCAA Division I Women’s Lacrosse Championship Bracket

This past Sunday, May 4, was the selection show for this year’s NCAA Division I Women’s Lacrosse Championship Bracket. This year’s selection proved that it can be anybody’s game this season as the competition is high. Let’s review some matchups.

Navy vs. Clemson

The Navy Midshipmen have established themselves as a major threat this season under the guidance of Hall of Fame coach Cindy Timchal. With an overall record of 15-5, Navy is poised to make a deep run this tournament.

The Tigers have been gradually building their new program, and the 2025 season marks an extremely significant milestone in their development. With a strong recruiting class, Clemson is gunning to make a statement in the tournament.

Princeton vs. Massachusetts

This matchup features Massachusetts’ high-scoring offense up against Princeton’s balanced attack and strong defense. Princeton’s midfield, led by Ivy League Attacker of the Year (McKenzie Blake) and Tewaaraton Award Watch List (Ellie Mueller), has been crucial assets to the offense.

The Minutewomen have been a powerhouse this season receiving seven All-Conference awards with Kassidy Morris earning her first major conference award as an All-Academic selection. Massachusetts has undeniably one of the league’s top offenses.

Virginia vs. LIU

This is LIU’s second consecutive Northeast Conference Championship win after defeating the top-seeded Stonehill College. With top scorers like Julia Trainor and Ava Taylor with the help of Mylie Norton’s solid goalkeeping ability, LIU is here to prove they deserve to be here.

Virginia will be making its 29th consecutive appearance in the NCAA Women’s Lacrosse Championship. The fifth overall seed has shown how much of a great team they are with the help of the 2025 ACC Midfielder of the Year, Kate Galica.

Syracuse vs. Brown

This will be the Orange’s 22cd appearance in the program’s history. Syracuse went up against 12 top-25 opponents in their regular season making it one of the toughest for them yet. Under the leadership of Kayla Treanor, Syracuse is on the hunt for the ring.

Under her second year, Katrina Dowd and the Bears have made program history as this is their first appearance in the Ivy Tournament. With an overall record of 10-6, Brown is looking to make a comeback against the Orange from their last matchup in the regular season.
