It is a goal of ours at Lacrosse Unlimited to continually grow our foundation and find opportunities to give back to our communities. We have always maintained that life is bigger than lacrosse, and as long as you are looking you will find a chance to lend a helping hand and contribute to something larger than yourself.

Our Goal is to find and partner with premier organizations who truly commit to their cause and use donations to carry out their mission. Some noteable names we have worked with in the past are the American Red Cross, the JJ Watt Foundation, Operation Baggataway, Shootout for Soldiers, the 4 the Future Foundation, and many more.

Each year, we reach out to new organizations in attempt to expand our horizons and touch as many lives through as many outlets as possible, and in 2022 we’ve used our resources to join forces with new organizations and make as much of a difference as we could, and by the end of this month we will have donated nearly $30K in revenue and supplies!

One initiative was taken in collaboration with the Pizzeria at Bay Shore. Together, we created the Pizza Short, and donated a portion of the proceeds to the Beacon House of NY. The Beacon House works with veterans based in New York to bring them housing, food, medical and mental health care, amongst other services that many of us consider basic needs. We value those who have sacrificed so much to protect and serve us, and are glad to have had the opportunity to lend a hand back to them.

We think we can all agree, we don’t deserve our pets. They are perfect in every way, and some of these precious animals are still searching for a home. So, we went out and collaborated with Save-A-Pet Long Island. They graciously allowed us to take a few of their puppies for the day, and have a photo shoot with them. We aimed to bring awareness to this non-profit organization that aims not only to give many cats and dogs a loving home, but to also provide the lowest costing medical services for your pets in the area – all on their own dime!

On top of helping where we can outside of lacrosse, we also aim to use lacrosse as a method of bringing growth and happiness to the community, and this year we teamed up with the Brentwood High School Girl’s Lacrosse team to provide brand new equipment to their program. The school did not have the funding to provide ample equipment to the players, so we felt as though it was our duty to support the very individuals that are contributing to the sport we love. In partnering with USA Lacrosse, we were able to provide the entire team with new shafts, strung heads and goggles, for them to go out and compete without having to worry about the condition of their equipment. It was awesome to see them go out and win their next game!

While the sentiment and goal is a positive one, some stories carry a heavier weight than others. 2022 was unfortunately not devoid of its losses. With the passing of Lazar LaPenna from Long Beach, as well as Michael Farrell, James Farrell, and Ryan Kiess from Manhasset, the Long Island Sports community came together and rallied to support the families suffering from these tragic losses. At LU, we created the Lazar LaPenna shirt, and the Manhasset Whiteout Tee, not only to honor the lives of those lost, but to provide funding to the families through proceeds earned.

Our Foundation based products will always be tagged with our “LU Foundation” badge on the product page so you can know how to contribute to the causes we hope to help out. We hope you take a look, and do your part in helping us to support these amazing organizations! We can’t help without you!
